MEDPICC, 6Sense, ZoomInfo, Sales Nav...I've used every tool. Here's what they all missed.
Updated: Sep 24
I've used pretty much every tool in the modern sales tech stack.
MEDPICC for qualification.
Sales Navigator and ZoomInfo for prospect data.
6Sense for intent data.
G2 for buyer signals.
Outreach for sequencing.
I built dashboards on top of all of it to track KPIs and figure out what was actually working.
Here's the thing nobody tells you when they're selling you the tool: none of these platforms talk to each other the way you'd want them to, and none of them actually do the job.
They just make the job faster.
Tools Are Not a Strategy
I saw this constantly as a manager.
A rep would get access to 6Sense, get excited about the intent signals, and then still send the same generic sequence to everyone regardless of what the data was telling them.
The tool gave us better information.
It didn't make anyone act on it better.
Same with ZoomInfo and Sales Nav.
Great for building a list.
Useless if the list building takes three hours and the resulting messaging is still one-size-fits-all.
What They All Actually Missed
Every one of these tools optimizes a single step in the process: finding people, tracking intent, sequencing emails, qualifying calls.
None of them own the whole motion from research to conversation.
So you end up with a rep (or a team) stitching together five different platforms, tabbing between them all day, and losing time in the seams between tools instead of in the actual selling.
When I introduced automated sequencing on top of our existing stack, we got a 300% lift in reach.
Not because the sequencing tool was magic, but because it closed one of those seams.
That was the first proof I had that the real unlock isn't a better tool. It's fewer seams.
Why I Stopped Stacking Tools and Started Building One System
The AI system I build doesn't add more tools to your stack.
It runs on the same category of infrastructure, enrichment data, outreach engines, calling logic.
The difference is nobody has to sit in the middle stitching it together by hand.
Targeting, research, personalized outreach, and qualification happen in one connected flow instead of a person manually pulling from ZoomInfo, pasting into Outreach, updating a spreadsheet, and hoping nothing falls through the cracks.
The tools aren't gone.
The manual babysitting of the tools is gone.
That's the part that was actually costing an hour a day and never showing up on anyone's calculator.
